Tenrox PPM Helps MaineGeneral Health Automate Project Governance Tenrox, the leading provider of workflow-driven Project Governance and Compliance Solutions, today announced that MaineGeneral Health has purchased Tenrox Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to automate its project management processes and governance methodologies and to gain visibility into Information Technology (IT) project costs versus budgets. The solution is being implemented within MaineGeneral Health's IT Project Management Office and will be used by IT staff, business area representatives and senior management. Tenrox PPM was specifically chosen for its integration with Microsoft Project, its workflow technology, as well as its flexibility and adaptability to MaineGeneral Heath's unique project management processes and methodologies. MaineGeneral Health is the parent corporation of a network that includes an acute care hospital, physician practices, rehabilitation programs, long term nursing care, and an assisted living and retirement community in central Maine. In 2004, MaineGeneral Health established an IT Project Management Office to develop and refine various processes and governance methodologies for managing projects across the IT organization. In 2005, the company began searching for a solution to automate project processes. In addition to Microsoft Project integration, other considerations in the selection process included a solution that would enable more consistent, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, reduce execution risk, enable more efficient allocation of resources, and enhance project collaboration. “Tenrox PPM fulfilled all these criterias, and unlike other packages we evaluated, it enabled us to configure the software to meet our organization's processes rather than the other way around,” said Warren Treuhaft, Manager of IT Project Management Office at MaineGeneral Health. “We’re also quite pleased with the ability to enforce and automate our PM processes via Tenrox's workflow technology.” Upon completion of the implementation—slated for the August timeframe—MaineGeneral Health will benefit from the automation of its project reporting and analytics with drill-down capabilities on project cost data and status, greater accuracy in time and expense capture and improved visibility, as well as dynamic real-time reporting capabilities and OLAP functionality. Future plans will include leveraging the integration of Tenrox with SharePoint for portal and document management..
