Pasadena, California – April 4, 2005
Tenrox, the Integrated Operational Control and Compliance Software Company, today announced that Release 8.3 now supports Microsoft SQL Reporting Services – a fully scalable, server-based platform for creating, managing, and delivering traditional and interactive reports. With the addition of SQL Reporting Services to the already supported Crystal Reports and proprietary Tenrox XML Reports, customers now have multiple out-of-the-box reporting options depending on their budget, platform investments and reporting needs.
“SQL Reporting Services allows us to produce better, more robust reports than ever before,” said Cathy Gabriel, IT Consultant with Wyeth–one of the world's largest research-driven pharmaceutical and health care products companies, and users of Tenrox's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module of its Release 8.3 software solution. “With Tenrox's support for this Microsoft tool, Reporting Services can now pull data directly from PPM contributing to the overall efficiency, accuracy and quality of our reports.”
Customers can now add and share reports designed in Microsoft SQL Reporting
Services from within the Tenrox workspace with full support for report parameter
processing, report display and export. SQL Reporting Services features an
integrated environment within which customers can generate and view reports
based on data stored in Microsoft's SQL Server database and other major
databases that have ODBC drivers and OLE data providers, including Oracle and
IBM's DB2.
Tenrox XML Reports enable customers to design two-dimensional, multiple-section
reports that output information in tabular HTML format. Data can then be
exported to Excel for further analysis. In addition, the Tenrox XML Report
Designer provides a fully Web-based, end-to-end reporting facility available
from within the Tenrox workspace to address basic project and workforce
management reporting needs..
Support for Crystal Reports is also available for customers who have already
invested in purchasing and learning the Crystal Reports designer and reporting
services.
Any of the above-mentioned report types can be added to the Tenrox Report Central, where they can be viewed, shared, and modified based on a role-based security system.
“We have aligned our strategy to leverage Microsoft's investments in document and project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Microsoft Reporting, Analysis Services and Office Web Components,” said Edwin Badalian, Chief Software Architect, Tenrox. “As a result, Tenrox Release 8.3 enables our customers to reap all the benefits of an enterprise project and workforce management solution at lower costs and a measurable ROI, with substantially less risk and internal resource commitments.”
