Tenrox today announced the availability of Release 8 of its modular, integrated operational control and compliance software, offering workforce management, time and billing, expense reporting, invoicing/chargeback, project accounting and business process management. Tenrox today announced the availability of Release 8 of its modular, integrated operational control and compliance software, offering workforce management, time and billing, expense reporting, invoicing/chargeback, project accounting and business process management. Designed for professional services firms, organizations with internal services or IT departments, Tenrox solutions increase corporate efficiency, improve project or service delivery, reduce costs, enforce compliance with regulations and back office financial controls.
The new release offers a 100 percent Web-based XML architecture, an enhanced user interface, plus a variety of industry-first cost and billing, graphical workflow and third-party integration features. An XML-based reporting tool is now included in addition to support of other reporting packages.
The software’s new interface eliminates Web page refreshes, provides hyperlinks instead of buttons, and requires minimal clicks to accelerate data entry, approval and other operations. The cost and billing enhancements in the new release speed chargeback/invoicing and enable the solution to handle the broadest range of billing scenarios available.
Tenrox Release 8 key include:
- Unique date-based, real-time cost and billing engine, enables real-time entry of hourly, fixed, flat charge, prorated and daily pay and billing rules based on users, clients, projects, tasks and dates with or without dependencies. The engine also supports cost plus, split billing and recurring rate rules. Tenrox is the only solution with this combination of date-based, rule-based, and real-time pay and billing information.
- Transaction and item cost/billing, permits automated billing of non-time-related items such as project overhead, bonuses, interest charges, discounts, subscriptions, licenses and equipment sold or material used. This allows billable charges to be included in an invoice or chargeback.
- Batch invoicing and chargeback, allows multiple invoices to be generated in a single operation simply by selecting the clients and/or projects to be invoiced. This frees users from the time-consuming and error-prone task of invoicing client-by-client or project-by-project, allows invoices to be reviewed and approved as a group, and permits the entire batch to be exported to the organization’s financial system in one step.
Other enhancements include:
- Highly configurable graphical workflows, let users visualize every process to expedite the setup, management and control of operational processes such as time, expense, invoicing/chargeback, incident, travel request, leave request, project initiation and work process management. Once a particular workflow is established, each item is validated at point of entry and is automatically routed for approvals via role-based assignments. The same graphical workflow concepts and management interface are utilized across all processes and modules for consistency and ease of use, reducing implementation time, learning curves and customization requirements.
- Real-time synchronized integration with Microsoft Project using one enterprise database, allows time and expenses entered and approved in Tenrox software to be transferred to Microsoft Project without manual import/export. Also, Tenrox's visual workflows and administrator-defined entry forms and fields help Microsoft Project users improve project initiation, scoping, compliance and governance by ensuring that all processes follow pre-defined rules and guidelines.
- Improved integration with ACCPAC, GreatPlains, Navision, QuickBooks, SAP, ADP and Ceridian, includes direct G/L and segmented mapping integration, for automatic transfer of time, expense and charge data from Tenrox to an organization's financial system. Tenrox also offers a Software Development Kit (SDK) and a documented data model to enable third party customizations, enhancements, reporting and integration with other enterprise systems.
